What is NAATI?
NAATI is the acronym for National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters.
NAATI’s core function is to establish and maintain high national standards in the translation and interpreting industry in Australia. It promotes the existence of a pool of translators and interpreters who can assist with the language needs of the Australian community by accrediting linguists.
NAATI is the accrediting body for translators and interpreters in Australia.
What is a certified or sworn translation?
Translations of personal documents for official use, such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, driver’s licenses, criminal records, academic transcripts, among others, are called certified translations, sworn translations, or “NAATI translations”.
Certified translators can translate any document in any field.
In Australia, there is a high volume of sworn translations of personal documents for submission to government agencies, such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, criminal records, academic transcripts, among others.
However, NAATI certified translators can also work in different areas. We work in education, marketing, medical and legal translations.

No. Certified translations do not expire. The certified translator’s stamp has an expiry date, as the translator must maintain continuous professional development and the licence is renewed every three years. However, this does not affect the validity of the translation.
Yes, we can deliver by post throughout Australia. The cost of postage is payable by the customer and varies depending on their address. Please note that we will also send a digital copy of the translation.
When it comes to translated documents, all Australian authorities adhere to strict guidelines. Your translation must have a certification stamp on each page in order to be accepted. Every NAATI translator with whom we work understands and is familiar with the requirements and compliance regulations.
